Fleetwood Tram Sunday brings an estimated 60,000 people into Fleetwood and is worth an estimated £1 million to the local economy.

The event is run by Fleetwood Festival of Transport CIC, a charitable company run by volunteers which invests any residual monies back into the event the following year.

Businesses large and small are invited to be involved and support the event, which enables Tram Sunday to get better and bigger year on year. Without a variety of funding streams, organising an event on such a scale would be completely impossible.

In return, you will be able to showcase or sell your business and products to the visitors on the day, and can expect good local, regional and national PR and exposure.

The event, now having taken place for over 30 years, is very popular with people from Fleetwood, the Fylde Coast and further beyond.

With something for all the family it involves the whole town and creates a welcoming, carnival party atmosphere.

Sponsorship also provides the opportunity for those who employ Fleetwood people to gain the support of local employees, and indeed customers, by supporting the community and assisting with staging of the event.

The Next Stage of the Journey

The Tram Sunday/SpareParts Team are on a mission to develop and grow this annual spectacular into a sustainable FREE high quality transport/arts family event for the town and for the region. It’s not just a single day event, but one with opportunities for local people to participate, learn new skills, have experiences and benefit from engaging with artistic projects throughout the year.

In 2016 footfall at Tram Sunday was estimated at about 65,000.

458 people participated in the SpareParts Festival, of which 161 took part in the parade. 15 community projects tooks place between April and July, and in total 140 artists were involved in the delivery of 78 performances.

The team are delighted to announce that they have been awarded significant investment from Arts Council England – not just to deliver this years Festival but also to take SpareParts on tour to events at Sandbach and Crewe – really putting the town of Fleetwood on the map.

However, this isn’t an opportunity to sit back and relax – the entirely voluntary committee operate this huge event on what can only be called a shoestring budget and every year there is a real need for the support of sponsors who can offer support in all kinds of ways.

Obviously financial support is vital – a large event like this costs a significant amount of money to run – but your financial contribution will be rewarded with an opportunity to promote your business in a way which would suit you best.

The team are also looking for in-kind support – highways, infrastructure and planning, rubbish collection, fundraising on the day, entertainers, staging and sound systems – the list goes on.
